Gear up with your binoculars and cameras at hand to take the shots of the Aves as they play around at picturesque locations of Gujarat. Arrive at the airport to catch the flight to Ahmedabad and on reaching Ahmedabad, travel to the Rann of Kutch which is a salty desert and a paradise for the bird watchers. Drive via the wetlands which is dwelling place for birds here like falcon, shikra, blue throat, rosy starling, black ibis, white pelican, grey and pond heron, pied, common and white-throated kingfisher. Also it is a sojourn for a wide variety of migratory birds like the pelicans, flamingos, sand grouse, cranes, Indian Bustards, ducks and frankolins. Various species of larks have been found in here. Also this regionally marshy land has the largest wildlife reserves in India, the Wild Ass Sanctuary which is a residence for the greatest number of Indian Wild Ass. Apart from all this, Rann of Kutch is home to several rare fauna species like Nilgai, Indian Wolf, chinkara gazelle, white-footed desert and Indian foxes.

A scrumptious breakfast will be followed by a drive to the grounds on a higher altitude. These pieces of land covered with scrub and grass vegetation are a dwelling area for Mcquuen’s Bustard in winters and the Indian Wild Ass during the flooding season. Bright chances of spotting the buzzard, species of eagles such as Bonneli’s eagle, snake eagle, booted eagle etc during the drive. In the evening, go for feasty bird watching at NawaTalao which is a lake where you can find a wide variety of birds flamingos, great white pelican, various species of storks, black headed ibis, Northern pintail, common teal, spot-billed duck, mallard, gadwall, wigeon, garganey, shoveler, cotton pygmy goose, pochards, tufted duck, lesser whistling duck, brahminy and comb duck. Morning enjoy a walk through the Dasada village which can qualify to be a good bird watching place for inquisitive minds. Species spotted here are yellow-legged green pigeon, paradise flycatcher, fantails, red-breasted flycatcher, white-eye, prinias and warblers. Afterwards, a six hours comfortable drive will convey you to Jamnagar. The fascinating drive will take you pass agricultural feilds and lakes where you can see roller & black shouldered kite. Evening visit to Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary that offers you the sights of those species of birds which are not found anywhere else in the peninsular India- Great-crested grebe, black-necked stork, Caspian tern, Indian Skimmer etc. Overnight stay in Jamnagar.
A luscious morning meal will be followed by an exploration of the Gulf of Kutch’s coasts where you find crab-plover, Kentish plover, oystercatcher, ruddy turnstone, broad-billed sandpiper, sanderling, dunlin, curlew sandpiper, black-headed gull, Pallas’ gull, temmincks stint, lesser-crested tern, gull-billed tern, common tern, little tern, black-bellied tern, whiskered tern, whiskered tern, darters, western reef egret and other birds along the coastline. After enjoying your breakfast, head start for Porbandar, the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi and also a coastal city. Porbandar being famous for many things boasts of its bird watching acreages among other known specialities. Here you can capture the birds like large flamingos, cranes, yellow-legged gull, henglin’s gull, black-bellied tern, sandwich tern etc. through the camera lens at a very close range. As the dawn knocks your door, pack your bags and morning meal to have it on the way. Move to Velavadar National Park which is synonymous to a reserve housing black buck in large numbers. Also spotted here are wolves, Jackals, hare, Jungle cats etc. Some of the birds spotted here commonly are Sirkeermalkoha, painted francolin, chestnut-bellied and spotted sandgrouse, rufous-tailed, crested and Sykes’ larks, red-rumped swallows, desert and variable wheatears, various species of eagles, falcons, kites, hawks etc. A rare sight of Stoilczka’sbushchat will be captivate you. Relish your breakfast after which move to the airport to fly to Delhi. At Delhi you will be taken to the International airport in time to board your flight back home.
