Day 01: Arrive Cochin

Upon your arrival at Cochin (commercial capital of Kerala), check into a hotel with our officials’ kind assistance.

Day 02: In Cochin

After your breakfast start your Cochin sightseeing tour with the breathtaking remains of various foreign cultures. The city tour of Cochin offers you an experience that will remain deeply embedded into a corner of your heart as you are taken to visit the oldest European Church in India: the St. Francis Church, the Mattancherry Palace built by the Portuguese, the Jewish Synagogue and the Chinese fishing nets. Day 03: Cochin-Thekkady

Welcome the morning with a hearty breakfast after which you will be moved to Thekkady by road (195 kms. in 5 hours). Being one of the most well preserved wildlife parks in southern India, exploring the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary (Entry 0600 hours to 1800 hours) will be give you an adrenaline rush as you’ll get to see the eclectic biodiversity here by venturing into the lap of nature by spotting various animal species like elephants, leopards, tigers , bisons etc dwelling here.

Day 4: In Thekkady

Wake up in the dawn for a boat ride in the picture perfect Periyar Lake to catch the scenes of wildlifes! Chances to spot animals like Wild boars, elephants, sambars, grey herons etc. In the afternoon, after breakfast at hotel, walk through the jungle with a wildlife expert while looking at a wide variety of flora and fauna present here. Evening will be devoted to visiting the local bazaar for buying some taste buds tingling spices and to shopping in the local market places.

Day 05: Thekkady-Kumarakom

You will be driven to Kumarakom after breakfast (150 kms. in 31/2 hours). Kumarakom is a village situated on the shore of Vembanad Lake and truly amazing beauty is the word as we explore this place in the tall mangrove forests, fresh rice fields, giant coconut trees and water bodies ornamented with pretty white lilies. Board a houseboat as you reach Kumarakom and start sailing through the picturesque backwaters of Kerela.

Day 06: Alleppey-Kovalam

Have lip smacking breakfast on board the houseboat and set sail to Alleppey hence. Go off-board the houseboat at Puthenagady Jetty from where you will be driven to the Kovalam beach (175 kms. in 4 hours) on the Malabar Coast near Trivandrum. Check in at a hotel on the beach and enjoy your overnight stay here after rejoicing your soul with the splendored radiance of the beach.

Day 07: In Kovalam

Kick start your day with a ‘taste buds enticing’ breakfast after which rejuvenate and relax yourself at the splendidly beautiful Kovalam beach.

Day 08: Kovalam-Kanyakumari-Madurai

Depart from Kovalam to reach Madurai by road and stop at Kanyakumari during the trip. Kanyakumari is the southernmost point of the Indian mainland where you will get to see the beautiful sangam of the three prodigious water bodies surrounding Peninsular India. The journey becomes more of a breathtaking experience as you visit the temple of Goddess Kumari and the meditation place of Swami Vivekananda, Vivekananda Rock Memorial. Resume the journey after lunch and check in to a hotel as you reach Madurai.

Day 09: In Madurai

Starting the day with a hearty breakfast, you will be taken for a city tour in Madurai which has great commercial and cultural importance in Tamil Nadu. Being the second largest city of its state, Madurai has a golden place etched for itself in the history as it was the capital of the Pandyas empire. This city has a feast of beautiful sights to offer, first one being the Meenakshi Temple constructed in Dravidian style having many music pillars which despite of being lithic, produce metallic sounds. Other attractions include the Tirumalai Nayaka Temple and the Temple Art Museum. Return to hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 10: Madurai-Tanjore

After breakfast, you will be moved to Thanjavur (195 kms. in 4 hours), famously called Tanjore which was the capital of Chola dynasty. In here, you are taken to have a look at the Brihadishwara Temple which is the greatest remnant of Chola temple designing finesse (erected by “Raja-Raja” in the 1010). Further, two things which will leave you amazed are the depiction of colour of Lord Krishna to be ‘shwetaha’ instead of ‘shyamaha’ in Tanjore School and the inscriptions stating strong development of arts in Tanjore. Overnight stay at the hotel after conclusion of the city tour with a visit to Tanjore Palace & Museum having souvenirs mostly from 19th century.

Day 11: Tanjore- Pondicherry

A luscious morning meal will be followed by a drive (150 kms. in 4 hours) to Pondicherry (one of the seven Union Territories of India) situated at the Coromandel Coast. Residence of Saint Agasthya, Pondicherry was the chief French settlement in the Indian subcontinent and it boasts of a nice atmosphere, inexpensive beer and extraordinary eating joints and most importantly Sri Aurobindo Ashram founded by Sri Aurobindo in 1926 which principally thrusts on the practice of combination of yoga and modern science. Spend a comfortable night at the hotel where you will be shifted on your arrival at Pondicherry.

Day 12: Pondicherry-Mahabalipuram-Chennai

After having a fulfilling breakfast, you will be driven to Chennai en route Mahabalipuram (160 kms. in 4 to 5 hours). In Mahabalipuram, admire the World Heritage site of majestic group of sanctuaries built by Pallava royals on the Coromandel coast. Displaying the mind-blowing art of intricate rock carvings done in 7th and 8th centuries, the fascinating Ratha temples, the Mandapas, large open-air reliefs like ‘Descent of Ganges’ and the temple of Rivage devoted to the praise of Shiva ji are all beyond awesome.Completing the Mahabalipuram tour, the drive will continue until your arrival at Chennai where you will be moved to a hotel.

Day 13: In Chennai

Morning after breakfast, explore Chennai by visiting the National Art Gallery & Museum, established in the eventful year of 1857, showcasing the most excellent collection of Bronze art pieces in India. Followed by this, you will be taken to visit St. Mary’s Church which was built in 1680 as the first British Church and is the oldest existing English church in India till date. The city’s exploration will conclude with going to the People’s Park, the mesmerising Marina Beach famous as the second longest beach in the world and the clock towers.

Day 13: Departure

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel in Chennai and check out at 12:00 noon to spend the day in leisure engaging in stress busting shopping and other personal activities. Depart for the Airport in the evening to fly back home.
